UNSWORTH VINEYARDS COMPANY SUMMARY

Unsworth Vineyards is nestled in the heart of Vancouver Island’s Cowichan Valley. Founded in 2009, Unsworth has rapidly grown to become the largest andmost recognized producer in the area, embracing the challenges brought forward by the region’s vicinity to the ocean as well as its Mediterranean climate (the only such climate in Canada) along the way.
We currently farm over 50 acres of estate and leased vineyards across multiple different locations in the valley. The Estate Vineyard is home to several acres of original plantings of Blattner hybrids, varieties that thrive in the unique climate of the area, with more recent plantings relying heavily on cool-climate favorites such as Pinot noir and Chardonnay in response to changing rainfall and temperature patterns.
To us, vineyards do not just yield the ingredient for our wines. They are also wildlife habitat and refuge, biodiversity hotspots, livestock forage, kitchengardens, and training grounds for current and future generations.
