COMPANY SUMMARY

A pioneer of California’s Rhone movement and the world’s first Regenerative Organic Certified vineyard

Tablas Creek Vineyard is a pioneer of California’s Rhone movement, founded in 1989 by two of the international wine community’s most influential families: the Perrin family of Château de Beaucastel and the Haas family of Vineyard Brands. After a four-year search, the partners bought property in the limestone-rich Adelaida District of Paso Robles, chosen for its similarities to Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Vine material, imported from Beaucastel, included several grapes never before planted in California.

Today, Tablas Creek’s 115 acres of vineyard feature eighteen different varieties, and is the first Regenerative Organic Certified vineyard in America. A herd of 200+ sheep and alpacas controls weeds and builds fertility. Natural winemaking, including native yeast fermentation and aging in large neutral oak foudres, produces Rhone-style varietal wines and blends of character and intensity.
