Fattoria La Maliosa
Climate action is at the core of La Maliosa's mission since its founding in 2009. We not only use agronomical practices to conserve organic substance and increase biodiversity but also produced studies and research about planting vineyards sustainably together with national research centers and the Siena University. Due to the accellerating effetcs of climate change on the vineyards, increasingly affecting our region we believe in collective sharing of knowledge in order to adapt more effectively. Together we can make the real difference
We farm in harmony with the landscape, the territory and its equilibriums. Without disrupting its balance, but adding value. We are Fattoria La Maliosa and this is our founding principle.
Our project is based on three fundamental choices: quality, beauty and environmental health, respecting the territory and its originality.
Ethics and aesthetics coincide for us. Our world is immersed in the hills of the Tuscan Maremma and intertwines with its beauty to further enrich and enhance it. We are nested between two territories. The first is the Saturnia area, where the vineyards coexist in balance with olive groves, arable land and woods, for a total of 170 hectares, with predominantly clay and chaotic stone soils. The second is the Pitigliano area, with 3 hectares of vineyards, planted on volcanic soils. These places are at the heart of our philosophy, the goal of our work every day is to express their essence.
We have a very simple idea of quality. We produce natural wines and extra virgin olive oil in an artisanal way, in complete respect of nature.
We believe in transparency, in a world where people are becoming more and more attentive to what they consume. We are aware that every balance is fragile and that man must move delicately, because soil is a limited precious resource. We have been certified organic since our foundation in 2010. Since 2022 we also obtained the SQNPI certification, “sustainable quality” with the National Rural Network. We measure our carbon footprint regularly since 2014
