The Guedes family always had a strong connection with nature in its many forms: the vineyards, the gardens, the estates. Developing sustainable business practices has been in our DNA since 1870, even if our low profile does not show it very much. We desire to play an active role in a sector that can have a huge contribution on improving the way our communities interact with nature.

Aveleda S.A is owned by the same family, the Guedes, for 5 generations. Since its foundation in 1870, the passion for winemaking, for the sustainable treatment of the surrounding environment, for biodiversity and for the attention to detail are still the guiding principles of the group. These pillars are at the core of the production of quality wines and creation of renowned brands like Aveleda, Adega Velha, Quinta Vale D. Maria, Quinta D’Aguieira, Villa Alvor and Casal Garcia. The group is active in 3 different wine regions in Portugal, Douro, Vinho Verde, Algarve and Bairrada wine regions. The company is the biggest producer and exporter of Vinho Verde in Portugal, exporting to more than 80 countries all over the world.
